چکیده

Limestone Chemical Looping Combustion process (LCL-C™) patented by Alstom Power Inc. proposes the formation of a CaSO4 oxygen carrier via sulfur retention when supplying Ca-based sorbent together with sulfurous fuels in fuel reactor. In present research work, four sorbents, three limestones and one dolomite different physico-chemical characteristics, have been evaluated as precursors during consecutive redox cycles thermogravimetric analysis. 5% H2 3000 vppm H2S (N2 to balance) 10% O2 were selected reducing oxidizing gases, respectively. Additionally, an anhydrite ore has also studied for comparison purpose. Results from SEM-EDX characterization particles revealed existence sulfation patterns: (1) uniform distribution, (2) core–shell structure (3) high content limitation be converted into CaSO4. All sorbents exhibited transport capacity (Roc = 13.3–20.8%), except material showing pattern 2.6%). Likewise, materials presented reactivity rate index values ranged between 11.0 18.8%/min. Therefore, herein assessed can considered suitable based carriers used CLC systems burning fuels.

Effect of gas composition in Chemical-Looping Combustion with copper based oxygen carriers: Fate of sulphur

Chemical-Looping Combustion (CLC) is an emerging technology for CO2 capture because separation of this gas from the other flue gas components is inherent to the process and thus no energy is expended for the separation. Natural or refinery gas can

Effect of support on reactivity and selectivity of Ni- based oxygen carriers for Chemical-Looping Combustion

Different Ni-based oxygen carriers were prepared by dry impregnation using -Al2O3 as support. The reactivity, selectivity during methane combustion, attrition rate and agglomeration behaviour of the oxygen carriers were measured and analyzed in a termogravimetric analyzer and in a batch fluidized bed during multicycle reductionoxidation tests. * Manuscript

Solid waste management of a chemical-looping combustion plant using Cu-based oxygen carriers.

Waste management generated from a Chemical-Looping Combustion (CLC) plant using copper-based materials is analyzed by two ways: the recovery and recycling of the used material and the disposal of the waste. A copper recovery process coupled to the CLC plant is proposed to avoid the loss of active material generated by elutriation from the system. Solid residues obtained from a 10 kWth CLC proto...
